LOL must be a ton of 4x4's where you are... Actually, since a large majority of vehicles are variable wheel drive nowadays, the regular car you are driving can become a 4 wheel drive in seconds. So, if nobody was driving, then they would be taking taxi cabs or riding motorcycles, or something else - so the congestion would still be there.

The only way to REDUCE congestion is to (a) have a job that has unusual hours, or (b) work from home.

this would look good on paper, but would be a sight to see in actual practice. he that doesnt need to carry alot of things, or to haul any cargo, they should switch to motorcycles.
bikes are only 1/16 to 1/4 the size of cars, get double or triple the amount of mileage with only 2 cylinders vs the 4, 6, or 8 cylinders of cars or trucks. u can fit 2 bikes in the same space a car uses. their much cheaper to run and insure vs cars. this part might be a pipe dream: the freeway wouldnt go to a complete standstill if a bike biffs it, and the bikes outnumber the cars by a 20-1 ratio.

unfortunately, there'd be a downside; cheif of which is, if u go down on a bike, u will get hurt.

i'd tend to belive rush hour wouldnt be so bad if every1 that drives would do just 1 thing: pay attention to the road.

No, because if they were banned their space would be taken by even more small cars. There are too many people with too many cars - that's the problem. Road pricing and giving priority to public transport is the only way to break out of the vicious circle.

We could reduce rush hour commute time by:

Banishing all of the elderly drivers and soccer moms in minivans from the roadways!!

yes if all other motorists would go ahead and park their cars then the Green Peace folks would have to turn off their TV's and truly live in the dark-----------besides if you ban the 4x4's they will just invent the roller skates or something else just as KOOL...

No...give the 4X4's a break already. Everyone has a right to drive whatever they feel like driving.
