At what point/ how many miles should the timing belt be changed???

Does anyone know whats wrong, I took it to the shop where they tell you whats wrong when the check engine light comes on, but they couldn't tell the car is driving sluggish, anyone have a clue?

I have a 96 vw golf and recently i have been having problems switching gears. example. I could be in 3rd gear and when i go to switch to 4th the stik comes out of 3rd but wont go to 4th. its kinda like im hitting a wall or something once i get out of 3rd. Any help is very appreciated to find out waht the problem is. Thank you.

I really want a Jaguar but the budget wont stretch to it. So I'm looking at a VW Boro or a Passat or maybe a Saab 95. Which would you recommend? Do you have any experience with any of these cars? Or can you recommend a similar alternative?

I have a '97 Jetta with the check engine light on. I took it to Auto Zone and got a code. They couldn't tell me what it meant. They said it was a Volkswagon specific code and I would have to check with a Volkswagon dealer. The dealer was happy to set me up with an expensive diagnostic but they didn't want to just tell me what the code meant over the phone. If I can just find out what it means then maybe I can just buy the part and have someone fix it much cheaper. The code is: P1580.
Last Thursday and Friday the idle was lurching but the engine light wasn't on until today. I didn't drive it all weekend but today I noticed it wasn't lurching at first. But then it started doing it again. It does it when I'm idle or in first and second shift. I hope someone can help.

Trying to find out what model VW Camper has the smaller windows above the main windows down the sides.

Actually in the roof panel, but still on the side of the van!!

i have a 05' GTI 1.8T, and are thinking of getting an aftermarket exhaust..... i saw a nice neuspeed catback, but went to a shop and they offered me a new muffler and exhaust tips and said its basically the same, all im paying for with neuspeed is the name....... is this true??.....is there a difference in performance??

Couple of years ago I remember seeing fibreglass inserts for VW Beetle (classic one) to replace the crappy cardboard thing they come standard with & also to hide your nice stereo from tea leaves-whilst also keeping the dash clear. Can you still get them & where from??

i just baught a 07 Rabbit and my Bro baught the new 07 GTi, if i want to buy a megan catback exhaust on ebay and it says it fits 07 GTI, dosent say anything about the rabbit, i looked under both cars and they have the same design of the exhaust will this fit my car?

I recently had the engine rebuilt and it has less than 25 miles on it. But it smells very strongly like exhaust and smells up our entire house when it is in the garage. Is there something that can be done to eleminate the smell?

The new engine is a single port 1600cc, nothing fancy. I cant keep the car outside because our neighborhood has a rule against un-registered vehicles being visable, so I have to keep it in the garage until I can get it regestered and inspected. But the smell is driving us crazy. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The oil light flashes, engine cuts off completely. wait for a few mins. it starts on the turn and goes for miles ,till it does it again. oil is fine ,replaced a new dip stick .... not sure what is going on
