I noticed that the car was shaking while stopped and the engine seemed to be running rather rough. No change in rpm's. I stopped driving IMMEDIATLEY and plan on taking it to a mechanic ASAP, but I have to wait a few days to get it in - any thoughts on what it might be?? Engine misfire? O2 imbalance? Timing?

1990 subaru legacy 2.5l auto awd 350000km. When going uphill or hard acceleration the engine will start to ping then vibrate serverly and then dies. I will pull over and turn off then it will restart and run smooth. The engine start to ping then seems it loses1 or 2 cylinders thus causing lose of power, vibrating and than stall. Other than this the engine runs smooth on idle and drives smooth until I get to a situation where I need more power for more than 5sec.
Burns on oil, Compression is 180-185.
Parts I changed. Plugs NGK, plug wires, coil, O2 sensor, MAF sensor, fuel pump, fuel filter, air filter, timing belt, knock sensor, exhaust system cat and muffler. Have run sea foam and TKO injector cleaners.
I am not showing any codes. And gas millage seems to be OK
I am running out of thing to change.
I bought the car knowing of the problem but I did not count on it been this much of a problem
Any help is appreciated

i am looking to find out if a subaruimpreza has an adjustable clutch cable, the clutch is slipping on mine and before i get it to the garage for an expensive bit of work i wonder if anyone can tell me if it has an adjustable cable which could just be tightened

I commute from Buffalo to Rochester for work 3 days a week, so I'd like something thats all-wheel-drive with decent gas milage. Dirty lenses on the inside of the headlights. Once i have taken the headlight assembly off, what tool can I use to get up in there and what solution can I use? I thought of a bottle brush, but haven't used it yet. I would like to get clear lenses like new cars have, but those cost A LOT to upgrade. Thanks for the other answers, but they weren't quite what I was looking for!

i got a 1990 subaru legacy with an NA 2.2L fwd boxer 4.... i was wondering if it would be save to bolt on a turbo from one of the turbo models without loosing much reliability.. im not planing on runing full boost either.. i dont want to end up blowing my engine ^^ it only has 140k miles on it too... thanks :D
