No and none. If Ford had any relationship to Subaru they wouldn't be in the situation they are in. Subaru used to be partly owned by GM but no more. Toyota owns about 10% of Subaru now

Good Deeds has the answer exactly right. Subaru is a subsidiary of Fuji Heavy Industries in Japan with Toyota holding a 10% share.

It is currently an affiliate of Toyota Motor Corporation, with them owning 8.7% of FHI. They acquired that stake from General Motors, who bought 20% of FHI (Fuji Heavy Industries Co., Ltd.) in 1999 to have an extended presence in international markets, and collaborate technologically with FHI. Before that, the stake owned by GM was owned by Nissan, who acquired the stake in 1968 during a period of government-ordered merging of Japanese auto industry to merge in order for improved competitiveness under the administration of Prime Minister Eisaku Sato.

Also, the Saab 9-2X is a Saab-branded automobile assembled in Japan at the Ota-Gunma plant by Fuji Heavy Industries and based on the Subaru Impreza, but with a modified body, suspension, and interior. Because of this the 9-2X earned the nickname "Saabaru" before it was released.

In 1969 SAAB merged with the truck maker Scania-Vabis, and between 1969 and 1995 the company was called Saab-Scania AB. General Motors bought 51 percent of the automobile division Saab Automobile in 1990, and acquired the rest a decade later.

Yes I believe they can do very well. Ford will actually be able to manufacture vehicles that people want to drive. I like to drive trucks or SUV's and it looks like Government Motors is going to get rid of those types of vehicles at GM. Trucks and SUV's were the most profitable for GM. I own a Chevy truck but I will not buy another GM vehicle as long as the government owns any part of them especially if they try and force the company to build vehicles I don't want to drive.
