I will be driving a lot considering I will be a realtor, also I was talking about the impreza 2.5i. those answers are all very good also, its going to be a hard choice! i was leaning towards the wagon anyhow due to space. but oddly they both seem to get the same MPG! i am very happy with that MPG rating as well its what my 03 sunfire coupe gets and the subaru is a lot bigger!

unfortunately your questions are a bit to vague to answer with any degree of confidence. I'll give it a shot thought. Hopefully I can be helpful
1/ The wagon and sedan have identical passenger space, but the wagon has a lot more storage space (trunk vs hatch back)
2/ My 2.5 gets about 25+ mpg in combined driving, some think that's good others think it's bad. I think it's fine
3/ The same...
4/ You need to provide more location, coverage, and usage information to answer this. The only real way to get an answer is to call a company for a (FREE!!! NO OBLIGATION) quote. No one here could possibly give you a number that would be accurate for you.
5/ I think they are great cars. Especially for snowy or icy driving. Very reliable.

I pretty much agree with Michael, except I don't know which Subaru you are talking about. There is a 2.5i wagon for the Outback, Legacy and Impreza. I can talk about the Outback from experience and the Legacy by similarity. The passenger space is identical, but you will find the access to the rear section via a hatch a lot more convenient than using a trunk. I found that I gut just what the window sticker said as far as mileage, including 28-30 MPG on the highway and 22-23 MPG around town. I do not believe the car is a California-certified ULEV (Ultra Low Emission Vehicle), as the Honda's are. ( do see the claim, "Meets the strictest emissions standards for gasoline engines when equipped to meet the California Partial Zero Emission Vehicle standard, although I have no idea what that means.) The Legacy and Outback are very safe cars in both accident avoidance and crash safety, as they are rated tops in crash safety by NHTSA and IIHS, so this will help keep your insurance rates down, but we have no way of knowing what YOU will have to pay.
I like the car very much. I am in the very weird position of having bought two Outbacks in less than a year. I just had to get the 6-cylinder. However, instead of trading in the 2.5i, I passed it on to my 33 year old daughter. I was very happy with the car and very confident in its safety and other attributes so that I knew she would not be getting "stuck" with a lousy car. I think the 2.5i Outback is an excellent car. I think the 3.0 is a better one, but the 2.5i is still an excellent car. :-)

Go for the wagon it has more room. Driven properly they can get 33 MPG. They are very well engineered and the safest in it's class. This is a great car, keep t maintained and it will last a long time and the re-sale value is high.

You will enjoy the convenience of the wagon when doing signage. The 2.5 gets fairly good mileage in all around driving and is an Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle built in an environmentally friendly factory on a nature preserve. It also has a five star crash rating-the best you can get. What color would you like?

Don't buy a subaru, I have a friend who has a 2004 forester with 30k miles on it. It died about two months ago and has been at the Subaru dealer ever since. After months of no car, they are telling her it needs an entire new engine and that it is not covered under her extended warrantee.

if your looking at the 2001+ models the sedans back seat does not flip down, having the wagon will give you acccess to alot more space.

Don't buy a Subaru, they have chronic transmission problems especially in their AWD models and they deny the problem and won't fix it under warranty.
Bad Business!
