My car needs a new water pump and thermostat for a 2000 Grand Cherokee Laredo 2wd, inline V6. Was wondering if anyone knows what the going cost of replacing them would be so I don't get ripped off. I know I can buy the parts myself for about 75 bucks at NAPA or any parts store, including gaskets etc. But how much should I expect to pay for the labor?

Why does the steering of my 99 Wrangler squeek when it's cold out? I mean it's not just a little forgivable squeak either. When I turn it squeals quite loudly. The Jeep has 110K on it but runs like a champ. How can I fix it?

My 2000 Jeep Cherokee has developed an awful odor coming from the interior vents. The odor smells like a hot radiator, obviously coming from the heater hoses, but my temp. gauges are fine. I recently drained and flushed the radiator, installed new coolant, but still have the odor. Also, my interior glass frequently fogs up and the defrost setting does not clear them. A friend says I need to clean the heater core. Any ideas here?, Thanks!

I have a 1994 jeep cherokee automatic and in the owners manual it says that while driving in the snow on paved roads that it should be in 4wd full-time. I was driving in the snow the other day and when i shifted into 4H the dash said part-time. Does anyone know how to put it in full-time? Or does my jeep only have part-time and not full-time? Thanks

any dealers have them in stock? I am interested because they have good mpg, look like the old discontinued Cherokee and you can get a real 4WD off road system in them. Anyone have any info?

My Jeep has been losing coolant slowly over a 2 to 3 week period. I bought a gallon of coolant that I have been using but recently had to use the last bit. I noticed that there must have been a slow leak at first, but then this morning I got a low coolant light again and when I went to check it, the entire resevoir tank was empty. I did not notice anything leaking underneath and all the hoses appear to be ok. I have noticed that the resevoir tank top has been coming off on its own, as each time I have had to replace the coolant, the top was already popped off. I checked the radiator and there was plenty of light green liquid in it. I'm wondering if there could be a problem with the water pump? Or could the resevoir have a leak? It was filled up halfway when i went to work this am at 5am, and just checked it at noon and can already tell its down about an inch. I noticed a sweet smell for about a minute or two while driving, but did not notice anything leaking. Can anyone help?

I'm a first time car buyer and before I start shopping for my dream car, I would like to hear any reviews or advice on the models. All information on the car or just on shopping for a vehicle is much appreciated as this will be my first time walking into a dealership.

I don't know maybe because the vehicle is only 1yr and 5mo old (with 30k miles) and I have had to take it in 6 times. Transmission replaced, O2 sensor replaced, and now the instrument panel flickers while I idle which sometimes causes the engine to die. Wow, I love Domestic cars! All this and my nearest authorized shop (Gary Mathews) is slow and apparantly incompetant.

My first and last domestic vehicle.

two of my gauge lights burnt out and I was wandering if its because of the light bulb or the fuse. I'm thinking its the the bulb, because I changed the fuse and it's still out. How do you get to the light bulb anyway?
