I love my Jeeps (have a wrangler now), and I have had a few annoying problems with them. But, I've also had some problems with Toyotas(bad ones) and Hondas. The BEST cars I've owned were Fords, so So much for the "American car is junk" thing. I LOVE em...and I'll NEVER own another TOYota.

Unfortunate situation but look at the big picture, Jeep overall is a very dependable vehicle. You have one that would challenge that fact. By not doing another domestic vehicle will limit yourself to 2 more choice, an Asian import or a European import. The Asian imports supposedly are a better quality but what if you get one that gives you problems? Stop buying them? Well, in that case you have one more choice, European imports, Now you are talking, go out and spend crazy money on a BMW, Mercedes or even a Porsche Cheyenne. And when one of those go bad I guess you'll be walking then. Best thing to do is trade the car that you are having problems with and get another SUV of your choice. Insure that the vehicle has a warranty that covers replacement vehicles in the event that your vehicle have to go to service for extended periods of time. Just remember, there is no such thing as a perfect vehicle. All vehicles are built by man not by God. Some people buy Grand Cherokees and never have any problems at all, that is why the loyalty rate is so high on the Jeeps because over all people are more satisfied than dis-satisfied. Good luck in your hunt. Adub.

Thought this was a question/answers board?
That's the risk of buying your vehicle used, you don't know the history. I'd try to sell my Jeep if I had issues like that, and I bet you'll do the same to the next owner.
Not all Jeeps are like yours. Bought my 94 Grand Cherokee new -only routine maintenance since and still runs strong. Though it did break-down once at 150k miles when fuel pump died -a common issue at that mileage & was planning to replace myself within a month of that breakdown.

You're not alone. This is a rather common phenomena. But most Americans are programmed to accept a certain level of "defectiveness" in their vehicles.
My personal anecdotes:
During the few years I had my 88 Chevy Nova (a GM/Toyota joint vehicle no less), I came to know my GM service coordinator, his wife's name, their children, the dog and where he lived. We're one big happy family don't you know. Melted main fuse block, brake problems, ceiling liner delaminated and fell down, every plastic piece in the interior faded/chalked, oil ran up the speedometer cable and leaked into the interior, radio quit and had to be replaced, ad nauseum. But the engine ran strong and the car handled great.
During the 20 years I've had Hondas (all two of them), I haven't a clue who works on them. I change the oil at a local shop and took the last one back to the Honda dealer (20 minutes away) for the 120,000 belt change and maintenance. Still have no clue who actually worked on it ... but it works 100% even at 140,000 so why should I care!

that's kinda strange...
my dad owns a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and it hasn't had a single problem ever
you probably don't drive well with it or take good care of it....or the factory just screwed up on yours

Mass Airflow sensor, intake air temperature or your o2 sensor, might want to be accountable as a rule yet generally the verify engine mild is going on if so, i'd verify those sensors in any case. undesirable gas mileage and undesirable acceleration come from the engine burning too wealthy, i'd take it to the nearest autozone or pepboys i imagine they verify your autos pc for loose.

your all fags stop leaking out of your vaginas and be a man and yell at the service ppl if they f with your car dont just take it like a homo from behind. my family has owned american cars all their lives and we have never ever for once had a problem just the simple 3k oil change. i dont think goin to import is going to help you at all because when those things break your goin to be payin a lot more then for a domestic car. just get down and dirty with these ppl even see if you can get other mechanics opinions that will help a lot more then cryin about it.
