this is a high speed glider launch winch. Drive is actually 1st 2nd and 3rd auto shifting, when it gets to 3rd we want it to stay there till the launch is complete, at present it is changing down and breaking the cable as the speed has to reduce higher up the launch, when we still need a strong pull.

My car won't start sometimes. All I hear is a clicking sound. Now this was a more serious issue about 2 months ago when I had a new starter and battery put in because of the same problem. It seemed to work fine and then the problem happens again but less frequently. What should I do? Should I check the connections to the battery? I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the weather because it doesnt get too cold where I live, only around 34 as the low. Please help!

I am replacing a transmission in a 1994 DeVille 4.9 Litre. Are there any special precautions I should observe when I install it? Particulary the introduction of the new fluid.

I get a squealing sound from the engine after it
runs for about 5 minutes, sounds like a belt noise
If I take the oil fill cap off, the noise goes
away but engine runs terrible, like a vacumm leak.
When I put my hand over the fill hole it gets
sucked tight and the engine smooths out. Ive heard this engine had some manifold problems, but
I thought they pertained to coolant leaks. The
squaling noise I'm hearing sounds like it is coming from the rear of the motor down by the exhaust. Ever heard of this problem? Thanks for your time

I've checked alignment, inside the pulleys for burrs, rough spots. No fluid leaking on belts. Could it be a bad vibration damper? damifino @ this point!

The oil pan seems to be sitting right on the cross-member, and has caused a crack or split and oilt is dripping out at a constant rate.
I checked the Motor mounts (did the brake/drive/reverse thing to check IF the were broken) NOT the case, but they seem to be "sagging",,,the rubber parts "look" "stressed".
Could it be that the motor mounts NEED replacing?? Will that bring the engine up higher, so the pan clears the crossmember??

Also, can the pan be replaced by lifting the enging up slightly OR does it need to come out ALL the way??

I quess I can replace the motor mounts by "lifting" the motor up by the pan (with wood& Jack) and too, do I have to loosen the Trans Mount??

----Sorry for ALL the questions, but HOP you can help me with an answer!!

Thanks - JOHN in Whitehall, PA

I own a 1986 K5 Blazer. The 4WD only works in reverse. Not when going forward. The back tires are the only ones that spin. Why will it only work in reverse and not forward?
