I am replacing a transmission in a 1994 DeVille 4.9 Litre. Are there any special precautions I should observe when I install it? Particulary the introduction of the new fluid.

When replacing a auto trans you should always flush out the cooler and lines in radiator,If you do not do this contaminated oil will be circulated in the new unit and could cause problems.Brake cleaner works well for this .
