when i engage my 4-wheel drive the transfer case changes but wheels do not lock in can front end alighnment cause this and if not what do i look for

There is a heat activated solenoid on the front differential that goes bad all the time. It can be replaced with a cable activated unit or a new solenoid. And no the alignment wont cause that. Hope I have been helpful

Actuator in frt differential is probably the cause .Newer design fixes this but requires wiring harness modifcations.ck with dealer about this
