The reason I ask is, I read an article in Truck Trend that said GM was offering an upgraded version of its Allison 1000 series transmission. The article also stated that GM was not going to offer a manual. Does anybody know. Personally I think this would be corporate suicide. Anyone know of a website I can go to for more info.

Have been looking at Hummers and have noticed how little head room they have !! My Tahoe has WAY more space !! So what is all the appeal if the interior sucks !! It seems so cramped. Do the interiors differ from the Hummer, the H2 and the H3 ????

Need to know how to disable the DRL. The fuse labelled EBU under the dash which the manual indicates as the DRL fuse does not control the DRL. Removing that fuse only disables the passenger side airbab!

recently tried to troubleshoot with no success my wind./washer pump and caused a dead short with inline switch . discovered the alternator was either on its way out or it took a hit . replaced alt. van ran real rough , just about stall etc. , just as though the computer was trying to correct itself. it still had the Alt. gauge flashing and showing 10V or less . hmm ! checked for battery chargeing and it dropped only when started . turned van off and checked all fuses in and out of box . all very good .tried to restart the van and realized no Service Engine Soon light come up . the instrument dash , guages etc. light up . no brake , SES , oread the manual I have and it appears as a possible blown PCM .?? tried a OBD1 test at the ALDL block and nothing comes up on dash . can't even get a code 12 on key ON position . can someone please help to to confirm if its a blown PCM or not ? self employed and this is the work van , had to temporarily use another truck Iown to keep afloat . LOL

I have a 1996 buick skylark with the 2.4L twincam 4 cylinder. It has cracked its head at cylinder number 3 and its running horrible. My question is.... Can I put in a 3.1 or 3100 v6 engine since the car is made to handle both 2.4L and the 3.1 for the optional motor. I know the ECM needs to be replace and the Wiring for the motor to ecm and emission control systems. I just need to know if the transmission it has will mount and work with the 3.1. And the difficulty of doing this job for the wiring and installing,,

my 93 cadillac has Oil in the radiator... Not water in the oil.
i have taken off the top of the motor and to my surprise it doesnt have aluminum heads. It has metal. I guess my question is w/ it being metal heads do i need to have them checked to see if they are wharped? And if not can it just be the gasket? I used a magnet and it stuck to the heads so i know they are not aluminum.

Im looking at a 2002 (58,000 miles) for $7,900 and a 2004 (79,000 miles) for $8,595 normally i would go for the 04' considering the styling is much improved inside and out, but i see that the mechanical quality rating went down in the 04 model. What is the reason for this, and what is the better deal?

I used to own a GMC Sierra 1500, and was able to use a jumper wire on where the computer diagnostic equip.(at the repair shop or dealer) would plug in. And with a few twists of the ignition key, was able to put the computer into diagnostic mode. Then count the flashes on the dash panel and match them to a code book. Saved a whole lot of money and was able to fix all problems. What are the steps to access the computer on a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am SE, 2 door? I haven't had to do this in a long time and have forgotten the proceedure. Thanks in advance for the help.
