aside from the aforementioned injectors, the dmax ( built by isuzu ) is built like a car engine, meaning piston on block. the large diesels ( semi ) and cummins use sleeves inside the cylinder to prevent the stress from wearing down the block.i worked at a chevy dealership for a while a cpl years ago, and had 4 dmax's come in with cracked blocks at less than 40k miles. also the dmax gets around 8-10 mpg, versus 16+ in the cummins. ive known some people to buy a chev with the dmax, and swap the dmax for a cummins which can be mated to the allison 1000 tranny

The Duramax has the main horsepower and torque obtainable on any truck in its classification and gets the astonishing gasoline economic equipment empty or loaded. Its quiet, responsive, delicate and promptly off the lot is desperate as much as grant you bigger ordinary overall performance and ability then you incredibly will ever use. in case you purchase one i will assure you which you will now not adventure sorry approximately it, i've got have been given owned mine for on the element of to 3 years now and it nonetheless surprises me as right away as in awhile with what it ought to do and the convenience it does it with.

Not many problems to report. Injectors mainly.
Must change the fuel filter regularly. Duramax has 100,000 mile warranty. Heard something about 200,000 mile warranty on 2007. Allison transmission very srtong. I have not seen one internal failure since they started using them.
Solid truck. Chevrolet technician.
