Need to know how to disable the DRL. The fuse labelled EBU under the dash which the manual indicates as the DRL fuse does not control the DRL. Removing that fuse only disables the passenger side airbab!

Thnaks...cob32187...pulling the E brake doesn't help as that fuse also
controls passenger side airbag!
snuffy....saw this solution on lightsout.org, too, but even though I
found the DRL module it would be too difficult to remove wires. I like
the option of cutting the red/white wire, but that's about just as bad
for location.
Richard W....I'm an old fart and with the DRLs on I forget to turn
the knob on the steering column to actually turn the head lamps AND tail
lamps on. Icon on instrument panel doesn't indicate the difference
between nigth time lights and DRL, it's always on. I'll be smacked in the
rear before I run into anything and I do know how to use the horn!
Papa John...see above answer to Richard
cy...dealer refuses. GM is the company that started the DRL use. see
www.lightsout.org
dodge man...I thought this might be a possibilty, but I can find no
fuse like thing to pull behind the lamps? Ju

I know for a 2003 you can do this:
>>USE AT YOUR OWN RISK<<
DRL module located above brake pedal. Remove module. Cut connecting legs to the board, pins 19 & 20, to kill auto lights. Kill DRL, cut legs 10 and 11, leave board side of 10 open, connect board end of 11 to ground (external switch or to leg 2), connect outgoing 10 and 11 to each other.
Method 2: Kill both DRL and auto lights, cut yellow wire (or leg 8 DRL relay), ground the module end of wire.
Good Luck . I think it's one of the worst inventions for an automobile. It serves the lazy, unattentive driver.

i wouldn't know for a 05 vibe, but i know for a saturn, there is a fuse/relay under the hood that u have to pull and alter it(disable one of the leads). If u pull the whole fuse, it will mess up the high beams as well as disabling the DRLs. So......i dunno in ur case. check the owners manual for the fuse or relay that controls them, and go from there.
btw, i dunno why u wanna do that, DRLs keep ur insurance down somewhat, so u shouldn't be tinkerin' with them

You don't. They were put there as a saftey feature.
Studies show a marked decrease in daytime crashes with DRL equipped vehicles.
You want to increase your chances of being hit?

Why would you want to? It could save you from some idiot pulling out in front of you. If you have auto headlights, isn't there an off position on the headlight switch?

Pull the E-Brake just enough that the light comes on, that usually turns them off.
