Is it a good deal to get a 2001 bmw 325i/328i Sports Package with 100,000 miles on it?? Am I gonna invest too much money in maintenance??, Is this a good car to have with this miles?

EML, (!), and brake light come on while I'm driving about 45 mph (not sure if this is just a strange coincidence.) Lights are yellow (means car is not getting ready to explode) and after referring to the manual, found out that it cuts engine power by 50%. Car is noticeably harder to accelerate. BMW dealership said it was probably an electrical problem. Before spending big $$, I would appreciate some professional opinions! Thanks

This question is in reference to my earlier one where I'm noticing my engine is not warming up as it normally should. It is very cold where I live (-10C).

The recommendations I got was to:

1. top of the coolant of the radiator with 50/50 premix
2. check into the thermostat (remove and see if it works)

I don't know where to find the thermostat or how to take it out for testing. Can somebody tell me?

After topping up the coolant, the gauge still sits at 1/4 of the way and the engine still doesn't warm up, even after 10 min of driving. Interestingly, the gauge shot from 1/4 of the way up to 100% hot for a brief moment and I had only been driving for 3 minutes (this is all after I had just added coolant). And the check engine light is showing, although the car drives normally.

Is this simply an issue of the thermostat malfunctioning or am I facing issues with the engine/cooling system?

My '01 BMW 325i doesn't have a feature to play my iPod. Can I take it to a retailer (Best Buy, Circuity City) to add a feature so that my iPod can be played in the BMW?

Or, does the '01 BMW 325i already has a iPod feature that I'm unaware of or didn't see???

When I put the key in the ignition it only turns once, not all the way. The night before it was working perfectly fine, but in the morning it just wouldn't start. I didn't have any warnings that somethig was going wrong with my car. I have a feeling that it could be the alarm system, although I don't have the factory alarm in my car.
Does someone know how to deactivate the alarm? or has anyone had a similar situation?

I have a 1998 bmw 328is m-tech i am having problems selecting all the gears, I took it to a local garage which advised me that the clutch was worn however, when the car is in gear it runs smoothly and no unfamiliar noise is heard also the car does picks up speed without the clutch slipping.. Advise please!!!!!!!

I have a 2001 BMW e46 316i

I noticed that when I am climbing a hill or coming down a hill at speeds, my brakes sometimes makes a squeky noise, sometime ago a mechanic said to me that my brakes needs changing, as the brake oil had come down quite a bit.

Now I am going to buy the brakes today from BMW, I am thinking how many should I buy, I am thinking of buying all 4 brakes, but I might be wrong here. It is worth buying just front 2 or all 4.

Also, on a more seperate note, when I was driving this morning, on a wet icy road, coming down the hill, the car skidded and i temporarily lost control, it was going sideways to hit another vehicle, I am note sure if this is related to the brakes or just the road condition, I did put on the ASC function afterwards, is this the right thing to do and what else do I need to check in the car ?

I have to fit an ECU to my E34 BMW 520, the one nearest the bulkhead. Is this easy to do or am I best to put it into a garage.
