No, it's a safety aid. It does, however, make a difference if you leave you're air conditioning on when it's not needed.

Not sure where you heard that from, turning off your traction/stability control not only does NOT save you gas, also turns off an essential safety feature of your car.

Only turn it off temporarily if you find yourself stuck in snow/ice/mud and have problem starting off.

No sir you will not save gas, and your dsc will default back on when you re-start the car
