thay are so loud in there car there not happy unless thay share there music with every one in a whole town at once my boy and his matets arnt happy unless thay have speakers bigger than each other i dont know how there cars stay togther from the vibration from the bass and thay will all be deaf soon anyway

i want to purchase a sub.. but i want accuracry and muzic to sound as it is.. which size shoul i go for.. i can get two 10"..thats no prob..the thing is which sub sounds better..10" or 12".. in ne case..and muzic like rap ,pop and rock.if possible..give a detailed answer.thanx

This will most likely be for a Mitsubishi Eclipse but that isn't for sure. I always find websites for high current aftermarket alternators for GM or other domestic vehicles, but all I find for import cars is OEM replacement alternators. Any ideas? Need for car stereo.

The brand power acoustic is a one of many brands that makes subwoofers with paper cones...the stats arent that bad, but the sound of a paper cone kinda scares me...i guess what im gettin at is it worth purchasing one of these bad boys or not?

example 1:
i have 2 SVC(single voice coil) 4 ohm subwoofers

if i am to wire these subwoofers in series
will i get an 8 ohm draw from the amplifier??????

example 2:
i have 2 SVC 2 ohm subwoofers
if i am to wire these subwoofers in series
will i get a 4 ohm draw from the amplifier??????

if i am incorrect in any way please explain...

i bought a pioneer primier cd player, 2 4x6 door speakers and 2 rear 6x9 s and a small amp. i dont really need that much power. it sounds really great but it seems like my old factory had more bass to it. the amp my be 300 wts. the 6x9 s are up to 400 i believe. i dont remember what the 4x6 s are but i need to give it a little more kick w/o blowing my speakers. can anyone help?

I have the Roady in my truck and it seems that lately the signal is leaving. I will be listening and all of a sudden the music leaves and the display will say antenna. I had the signal resent and it worked ok for awhile but it is back doing it again. Do I need to change the radio channel or do I need a new receiver?

My brother's radio went out on him and he bought an In Dash M/V and wants me to install it for him. But he wants me to bypass the E-brake switch so that he can watch videos while he is driving. I keep on trying to tell him that this is a bad idea, and I don't want to be responsible if something were to happen because he was distracted while watching a movie while commuting to work. He keeps on telling me not to worry about it and still bypass it. What would you do if you were in this situation?

my stereo has 2 rca out puts...one says rear speakers...the other says front speakers.........please excuse the ignorance, but when using an amp to power subs...i should use the set for the rear right? The amp has an rca input and a pass through....i connected the rca's to the input.....

I purchased 2 12's that I know are working (tested in friend's car). I have a Rockford Fosgate Amp along with a Rockford Fosgate 4 gauge amp wire kit. The amp is a P5002. Neither the amp nor the 100 amp kit came with a cable to connect to the power antenna or radio control. I hooked everything up as it should have been but there is no power to the amp. Should I be getting power because of the connection to the battery? A freidn stated that I will not get anything out of the amp until the power cable is attached to the radio or power antenna. Please help...Thanks...

I just wonder how much power can a regular 18-20 gauge copper wire handles. I did an amp installation in my car thru the stock speaker wires. 18-20 gauge. and it is running 111watts.
some people told my you gonna get rust all over soon or burns out.
Is it true?
Will it cuase trouble or will it be fine?
I thought 111watts is very small amount of power thats barely enuff to lit up 2 light bulbs.

I have a pioneer AVH-P5700dvd player in my 85 monte carlo. i have had this radio now for about 9 months and its been great. i have not drove the car in awhile and when i turned the key on the radio turns on and off. at first it acted like it was skipping and then no volume. now turning on and off. whats the deal. my car alarm is acting funny too.

i have 2 mtx 9515 subs hooked up to 2 2 2100 rms @ 2 ohms spl amps now i have blown 2 boxs apart in like 2 months i built them both i put like 2.5 cibic feet per section so the box is apx 50 cubic feet and i used a screw at every 1 inch and i used liquid nail on the seems and im still blowing them apart.....now i used to have a ported box and it al most blew my trunk off so much things rattled so i dynomatted the whole front of my trunk and it still rttled everything so i got a enclosed box but i bleew one box away in 4 days then i built anouther one used liquid nail on the seems and used like 100 screws but it it still blew it apart now what can i do to keep this box sealed so it dont blow up thinking of fiberglass and i will put like 10 coats of resin. help me what to do

I have a question about my car stereo system.?
I just installed a system in my oldschool and for about 3 days my system worked fine. But the other day my subs will cut off when I turn my volume up pass 20. I have already busted 4 fuses in my amp and checked my head unit and it seems fine and all my wiring is perfect. I was told it could be my battery, but I dont have trouble with my amp cutting off its just that my subs will not play after a certain volume. I also know its not my battery because I had this car for a while and the battery is only 2 years old. I need help figuring it out. I was also told that my ground may be bad. I checked that but its not that either.

Ok, after much deliberation, I have finally come to a conclusion on my sound system setup. In a small trunked 88 Camaro, I'm going with 2 JL Audio 12w7's and a JL Audio 1000/1 amp hooked up to each sub (So 2 subs, 2 amps). My concern is the RMS on the amps are 1000, I haven't heard much on the RMS wattage of the w7's. I've heard they vary from 800 to 2000 RMS. I just don't know. Whatever it is, will 2 1000/1 amps safely and sufficiently power 2 12w7's?

Hello, I bought this car knowing there was no radio, now I have one hooked it up yesterday to the wire harness and I guts no Power.... Damn It!!! a friend did has a testing light and the light came on for the Radio Fuse but the Red wire in the Harness nothing, where is the Live wire then any takers....>???? Any ideas how I can trace the Postive wire from the Fuse to the harness in the radio dash>??? or find a Constant postive power saurce... Please help even if it's not a good answer...
