I purchased 2 12's that I know are working (tested in friend's car). I have a Rockford Fosgate Amp along with a Rockford Fosgate 4 gauge amp wire kit. The amp is a P5002. Neither the amp nor the 100 amp kit came with a cable to connect to the power antenna or radio control. I hooked everything up as it should have been but there is no power to the amp. Should I be getting power because of the connection to the battery? A freidn stated that I will not get anything out of the amp until the power cable is attached to the radio or power antenna. Please help...Thanks...

The blue wire from the radio unit is a control to other devices, and is to be used as this. The "control" input to the amp -blue wire, must be hooked to this to work. alternately it can be hooked to car 12v through a switch,, but the antenna/control wire from the radio is much better and cleaner. There is no current to speak of so a small wire can be used,, 16 gauge is fine, as would be 18. Single wire is all you need. The wire from the radio goes to +12V when the radio is turned on, that's how it works.

This has nothing to do with your antenna. Things to check:

Power wire from battery to amp. check fuse in between.

Ground wire from amp to ground, Make sure you have a ground to BARE metal.

Remote wire (little blue one) from back of Head unit to amp.

Check the fuse on the amp.

Once everything is checked, you should get power.

This has no longer some thing to do which incorporate your antenna. subject concerns to verify: means cord from battery to amp. study fuse in between. floor cord from amp to floor, make effectual you have a floor to bare metallic. distant cord (little blue one) from decrease returned of Head unit to amp. study the fuse on the amp. as quickly as each and each little subject is checked, you're able to get means.
