I just bought a $50 cheapo car cd player for my little kick-around car. It has a removable faceplate for security purposes, but I have to wonder....do I really need to bother?

I mean, ten years ago, a car CD player was a high-dollar item, and if you had one in your car, you were in an elite group. Now though, every car produced just about has a CD player as standard equipment.

Do I really need to worry about taking the faceplate with me all the time, or it more trouble than it's worth to keep detaching it?

I have recently purchased a CB radio for my car. A CB radio is what semi truck drivers use to communicate with each other. I have been using my CB radio for a couple of months and never really stopped to think, "What does the CB really stand for?" If you know this please respond. Im very curious.

It only works for a couple of hours a day at most, if at all. The power stays on constantly and the power indicator goes to max when I key the mic but no one can hear me and I can't receive. Then out of the blue it will work perfectly for a while. Have tried a different mic and the aerial and connections are ok.

I am trying to wire my amp and subs to my car and my girlfriends car stereo, in my girlfriends car we wired it up using Low Input RCA cables, and in my car we used the High Input by wiring it to my rear speakers, my stereo sounds awesome but my girlfriend sounds fuzzy, we both have the same type of amp and same type of subs in each of our cars, would hers sound better if we used the High Input method like i did on my car? or is thier no diffrence between High Input and Low Input?

I have a 2001 toyota celica and I have been looking around for In-dash DVD players with a NAV system. The thing is tho, not all in-dash players fit in my car. Where can i find out which players can fit in my car?

I have been looking at a Pioneer touch screen, AVH, but I cannot find the NAV system for it besides directly from Pioneer, which is almost $2000.

So, can you recommend a nice DVD in dash player w/ Nav that is affordable, (even if its on ebay) and is touch screen, and is adaptable to my car. Thanks!

I have a 1000watt JBL sub and about a 250watt sony xplod amp, is there anyway of increasing the power of the amp without buying a new one? I brought it second hand so i dont mind taking it apart... Its just that the sub isnt kicking much out, it was all professionally installed by halfords and the bloke told me before he put it in that the amp werent going to be powerful enuff. So is there a fuse or sumin i can take out to increase watts or sumin.

thanks all.

I have a car amp that was recommended to use 4 gauge power wire, which is about as thick as my pinky finger. But the wire in the in-line fuse (100 amp fuse) is about the diameter of a pencil lead. Why the super thick power wire then? Isn't the current flow 'throttled' going thru that super skinny fuse?
