I have recently purchased a CB radio for my car. A CB radio is what semi truck drivers use to communicate with each other. I have been using my CB radio for a couple of months and never really stopped to think, "What does the CB really stand for?" If you know this please respond. Im very curious.

Long ago the FCC released the frequencies to the public in the hope that people could still communicate if something interfered with regular radio. The called it Citizen Band because it was intended to be available to all citizens.
