the amp says that it is a mono class d, and it runs 500watts at 4 ohms, and 850 at 2ohms

Sure but it will only be able to be wred like so http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j230/sparky3489/PARALLEL-SERIES.jpg this will provide a 4 ohm load. So each sub will get 250 watts as the watts is split between them (500 watts @ 4 ohms).
Two 4 ohm DVC can only be wired as 1 ohm, 4 ohm or 16 ohm.

yup cord it in parallel - that's what i'm presently doing with my 12" L7. you cord from the amp to the kicker voice coils with the white dot. then link the positives mutually and the negatives mutually to deliver to 2ohm solid. it is going to coach interior the kicker sub instruction manual - if u don't have it then acquire it on their internet site.
