I have the Roady in my truck and it seems that lately the signal is leaving. I will be listening and all of a sudden the music leaves and the display will say antenna. I had the signal resent and it worked ok for awhile but it is back doing it again. Do I need to change the radio channel or do I need a new receiver?

The problem is the antenna connection. If the Roady says "no signal", the antenna positioning is not optimal. If is says "antenna", the receiver is not sensing an antenna.

Try slightly crimping the antenna connector where it hooks up to the receiver. If there is a plastic case surrounding the connector, remove it and squeeze it together slightly. This could be just enough to make it hold tightly to the receiver. Also, the receiver may not be seated in the cradle correctly. Try pushing the receiver down in the cradle further and wiggle it around. After removing the receiver 300 times, these connections become loose.

Sounds to me like your XM radio antenna (The little square magnetic box) is not in the optimal position.

Your XM radio's antenna receives a signal from the satellite and also transmits that signal to your car's radio antenna. In order to do both jobs well, your XM antenna should be placed on the outside of the vehicle, as high as possible, and near the car's radio antenna. That way it can pick up the satellite feed without being blocked, and have the best chance to send that signal on to your car's radio.

I occasionally have the same problem with my Roady. I've found that unplugging the antenna and then plugging it back in a waiting about 20 min. helps until the next time (which isn't for a few months).

Perhaps you need a better antenna. And if it is the receiver take it back to the store. You bought it at and ask them to test it or replace it. Make sure you have your receipt

try relocating your antenna to the large flat metal area on the roof and drive around a bit to see if this changes anything
