I have a pioneer AVH-P5700dvd player in my 85 monte carlo. i have had this radio now for about 9 months and its been great. i have not drove the car in awhile and when i turned the key on the radio turns on and off. at first it acted like it was skipping and then no volume. now turning on and off. whats the deal. my car alarm is acting funny too.

i know where all the ground are i put the engine tranny and player in myself. i checked the power wires too

u need to hook up a seperate fuse from your alarm i see alot of people run it off the same one as thier radio and it doesnt pan out to well my friend did the same thing and his just didnt even work so try to hook up a hole new fuse for your alarm

sound like there is not good power in the vehicle check your battery and also chdck the ground from the battery to the chassis it is a black or brown cable about 12 ga not to big ,
there is one more ground cable behind the engine near the firewall
when mechanics replace the engine they never plug that back

REMOVE THE WIRE THAT IS GOING THE THE FENDER CLEAND IT AND PUT IT BACK OR IF POSIBLE REPLACE IT WITH A NEW WIRE

hey man i used to have the same problem you should run the ground wire directly from the battery.
