I just want to know what the difference is other than the obvious (bandpass is ported and sealed is not). I am looking at getting a Rockford Fosgate DVC sub and I wanna know what the recommended box would be. Thanks.

Does the 100w go straight to the subwoofer or is it going to power that and my front and rear speakers? I dont want to blow them out. I already have the 50w rms front/rear speakers installed, I just want to make the right decision on powered subwoofer because I have an eclipse and dont want to put huge, heavy subwoofers in there. There's another powered subwoofer which is 32w rms x2. I'm not sure what the x2 means. But that sub is only 6" opposed to the 100w which is 10". Thanks for the help.

Last night I was driving along and went over a bump. There was a little noise and all my speakers stopped working. The head unit is still working fine, but no sound comes from any of the speakers. There is a slight crackle noise from the speakers when I attach the face...

What could be the problem?

I know there is a free online "Chilton" reference guide for all vehicles but I can't recall the Web site. Any help would be awesome and maybe some diagrams and a step-by-step guide to walk me through the process. Thanks!

Alright, I drive a tractor trailer for a freight company. Of course, there are no radios in the truck. What we(drivers) do is build a box with speakers and a car radio mounted in it. There are bannana plugs on the dash to get power from. Now The only problem is that everytime you shut the truck down the radio will lose it's memmory (presets, Volume level, etc). I could get an analog radio but that is just out of the question. I was thinking more along the lines of a secondary power source. Like connecting a 9V battery connector to the memmory wire so when the truck is off it will still hold it's memmory. Seeing that the radio won't work without this wire being hooked up to the trucks power I would have to incorporate a diode of some sort so I don't fry the battery. What kind of diode should I use and Where should I put it in the circuit? Thanks for any info....

Hello, I think that I blew the fuse for the radio in my 99 Windstar. I was taking out my old kenwood stereo and I was installing this new pioneer stereo. I was testing to see if the pioneer stereo would power on. Everything worked fine but I did not have tape on the wires. I think that some of the wires touched and now neither stereo receives power. Does anyone know if I blew a fuse or what could it be? Thanks I appreciate any help!

I bought some nice JL stuff and I'm hoping it lasts me for a while. Will it help to save them if I just don't listen to them obnoxiously loud all the time? Or if I underpower them (and not clip the crap out of them, lol, thats obvious). I basically just want a ballpark of how long they could potentially last. I'm actually going to have my subs and an amp for them all ready to go but I'm going to save them for my next car for power reasons. Is it also ok to let speakers sit around for a while?
