Does the 100w go straight to the subwoofer or is it going to power that and my front and rear speakers? I dont want to blow them out. I already have the 50w rms front/rear speakers installed, I just want to make the right decision on powered subwoofer because I have an eclipse and dont want to put huge, heavy subwoofers in there. There's another powered subwoofer which is 32w rms x2. I'm not sure what the x2 means. But that sub is only 6" opposed to the 100w which is 10". Thanks for the help.

If you are buying a powered subwoofer, it is completely seperate from the front and rear speakers. It's just a box (or tube) that sits in the trunk and gets signal from the head unit via either RCA cables or speaker wires. A 100w sub isn't all that powerful, i'm sure it will be fine.

32wx2 means that it is times two channels. In otherwords, there was most likely 2 speakers.

right that's yet another determination for you. Rewire the amplifier so as that front 4 audio device each and each have its very own channel on your 4 channel amplifier. Then potential the rear audio device promptly off your stereo. At that element, you ought to use the amplifiers benefit settings to stability the output of the 5.25's and front 6x9's so as that the 5.25's are no longer so overpowering. this will additionally strengthen the potential going to the front 6x9's from 37 watts rms to 50 watts rms. the rear Sony audio device might then be getting 18 to twenty watts rms from the stereo, which will desire to be plenty for the rear fill.

The amplifier on a powered subwoofer is only for the sub. It won't send power to your other speakers.
