hi, it gets hot because your headunit is over driven. not compatible with the land rover. contact land rover dealer,they might have the right one for you. good luck

it may not be in a good insulated area, so heat is just building up, some head units, have fins on the backs to help get rid of that heat-simple cooling system. It's overworked!
