i replaced the speakers but the amp still hooks up to it. how do i eliminate the amp?

The factory amplifiers are attached directly to the speakers, so the easiest way to bypass the amps is simply to replace the speakers. However, it's not really necessary to eliminate the amplifiers in order to install a new head unit. The factory amps will work just fine with the new radio in this vehicle; you just need to be sure to connect the amp turn-on wire in the vehicle radio plug to the remote output on your new radio.

You can get an Amplifier bypass harness when you are going to do the install. Or you can do it the hard way, get a wiring color codes sheet and start snipping...

Alot of people, bypass the Factory amp, cause well it doesn't put out as much as the Aftermarket HU would, most new HU got built in amps in em'...SO for instance, my stock amp had 12watts, HAHA ridiculous, my new headunit is 60x4 watts, sounds better with new speakers too, might wanna look into those as well
