Ok... I am going to purchase a new car. I live in south Jersey temporarily. I want the car registered in New York, since that is where I am from and the insurance is cheaper. I have several questions..

When you buy a car..how long from when you walk into the dealer to when you drive it off the lot?

How would I go about buying a car in NY without missing work (drive up Friday, buy car on Saturday back to work on Monday, possible)?

How would I go about buying a car in NJ or PA and having it registered in NY?

Basically what is the best way to do this and is it possible...

If anyone could help I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

In this case, the auto dealer is in Indiana, and the co-signer is in Maryland. Is it legal to mail the papers or does the co-signer have to be present to sign by law?

I am not sure of the laws in Indiana regarding this.

Thanks for any info.

I had a horrible experience with a car dealership in NJ. I signed a contract a week and a half ago for a lease. They never gave me a copy. They tell me to come in to pick up the vehicle when I get thier they tell my that I have paperwork to sign, it was a new contract where they changed my payment and changed it to a balloon finance. I told them that this is not what I agreed to and that I will not sign this new contract. They told me that I am the one losing because they don't need my business because they are a multimillion dollar dearlership and that my security deposit is nonrefundable. Is this true in New Jersey, are security deposits nonrefundable.

I want to buy this truck at the beginning of the year so if anyone knows someone that has one for sale or may be thinking about selling one, I need it bad!! I used to own a 2003 xtreme Blazer and I totaled it. Now I am in love with the Xtreme pickups. 4 dr extend cab is just perfect for me. If you don't know someone who wants to sell, if you know a good website that may have one. Thanks

My husband co-signed for my car. Now we are separated. He has never paid anything for the car and has agreed to let me take his name off the title. I get a homestead exemption on property taxes so it will save me money to take his name off. How do I go about changing the title and registration? I am in South Carolina.
