Can't do that I'm afraid. But you can surrender your old car tax and they'll refund what you have left, less one month. Then just get a new disc for your new car

No. First thing you can do is sell the old car with the disc. You will probably get a better price selling a car with the tax or get a Second thing is retunrn the disc to DVLA for a refund. Whichever is higher, selling it with the car at a good price or claiming a refund.

No you will need to get a form from the post office to claim a refund, however you MUST still purchase a new tax disc for your new vehicle in the mean time ... Penalty points & fines if you dont or even your car being impounded and crushed if caught .. If you are not using the vehicle for a while and dont wish to purcase a disc then you MUST fill a SORN decleration. which is on the vehicle documentation.

No because when you get your tax they write the vehicle details on the tax disk which means it is non transferable. You need to get a new tax disk for a new car or it won't be road legal.

No you can't, you need to return your existing tax disc back to the DVLA, who will re-imburse you for the amount left on it. Be warned though, they do round it up, so if you have 7 and a half months left, you will only get 7 months back.
Check with the post office if their is a form that has to go back with it.

No, car tax is specific to a particular vehicle.
You can cash in any of the unexpired bit though.

no, but you can get a refund for all full months left, if selling privately you can usually get at least twice what your tax is worth on top of your selling price because people are lazy and can't be bothered organising tax right away.
