i am planing on raceing in the scca, its nothing special just some cone clobering and what not. my delma is simple i need a car that is cheep, easy to fix, cheap parts, and an easy drive for a novice. please help.

any 4-wd subaru. those make for the best novice rally cars.

Your best bet surprisingly is a Mazda Miata. These cars are cheap to modify and handle beautifully straight out of the box. They also have amazing weight distribution. I think its close to a 47/53 front to rear split. It will definately be easy to handle but you may need to install a roll bar or cage. This is an ideal street slalom car but not ideal for dirt.
(Do not waist your money on a Honda)

An old Volvo 240. Seriously. They're reasonably well ballanced, bulletproof, and easy to find parts for. And for rally racing, their reputation for safety is also something to consider.

Or better yet, go to a rally enthusiast message board and find someone in your area selling a pre-built rally car. This is often the cheapest way to get started. Here's a few places you can find them:

Honda Civic Si 96-99 great car they are V-tech motors might be able to older 94-96 good also small good handling...
