as in a cannoe, you have holes at the bottom where water enters, does a larger vessel use the same principal?

My uncle purchased a boat in 1986 and never paid for it from a company in Florida that's now out of business. I would have to guess that the bank that gave him the loan holds the title now but I have no idea what bank. Is there a way to get the title thanks for your help : )

I have a radio that is listed as waterproof/water resistant. But, how waterproof is it?

I asked this question to the manufacturer of the marine radio, and they sent me a link to WikiPedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_Industrial_Standard - This is not really the definitive source I need, and it does not specifically list JIS4. I also did not find JIS4 listed on the Japanese Industrial Standards website.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I have lake access from my house but we dont have a dock for my boa. Alot of people have there boats tied to poles in the water. What type of pole should I buy to do this? Do I just need a peice of 2-3 inch pipe and pound it in? How far into the ground should the pole be? Any suggestions would be great!

I have a 1993 Mercury outboard motor that won't stay tilted up when pulling out of the water. I think the seal may be broke on the piston next to the actual tilt motor but not sure if this is a common problem or not. Does the tilt motor actually hold up the outboard motor as well as the piston next to the tilt motor? No problems exist with the outboard motor, only problem is with the tilt motor and piston attached to the outboard motor. I know it's difficult to understand unless your an outboard motor buff. Also, what is the average price for a tilt on this old of a motor? Any advice would help

I have a Lowe aluminum SeaNymph 175 fishing boat, equipped with a pole mounted, bi-color, bow light with built in courtesy light (to illuminate the front casting deck). The light over heats and trips the circuit breaker after several minutes. The rocker switch is a three position type: Up = Navigation (bow and stern lights on), middle = Off, Down = Anchor (white stern light only). I can leave it in the Anchor position and it does not trip the circuit breaker. What should I look for? I opened up the light and the connections all seem intact. The following link is for the manufacturer's mounting instructions, but the light was installed already when I bought the boat brand new at a local marina. I assume the light base and wiring were factory installed. http://www.perko.com/instruct.php

My son's Best Friend bought a 98 Reinell boat off of Ebay.. I believe he paid $11,000.00....
To make a long story short, he drove to Indiana got the boat, brought it back to Toledo, put it in the water ( he was told it was water ready)... the engine blew!!! Come to find out, there was a crack in the engine block and water got into the crank case where the oil goes in to....
Needless to say the boat is shot and needs a new engine!!
My question, is there any kind of a Lemon Law on Ebay?? or anything he can do to make this guy legally fess up and take responsibilty for ripping him off??

Yes, he throughly checked him out before the purchase...

Thanks so much for your input :)
