Both have good and bad points..... I ended up with both for a Johnson.
It depends what you need,,,,, If ts just to change the impeller then any will do....
I didn't realize the local library had them.....
I had mercury motors and an evinride and went to the library instead of buying.....

One may be as good as the other. I have a Clymer for Evinrude/Johnson. So, it has to be good, because that what I have to use. LOL! But, some of the pictures it have can be a little hard to see well. As mentioned you can check the library.

For cars Chiltons is cr@p, i go with haynes only for cars. probably cr@p for boat motors too.
