I recently got a bayliner 175 that had been sitting for a couple of years. I replaced the starter and solenoid and had the carburetor rebuilt.
Everything seems to work fine except when I stop for a while to fish. When I try to start the engine it will not crank over. I have to fiddle with the carburetor to get it started. I can restart the engine without any problems right after I shut it off and when its out of the water. Sometimes it will just crank right up and other times I have to mess with it for 5 minutes.

I recently purchased a 30', offshore type, power boat. The boat is registered as a 33' due to an added outboard bracket. I was told the boat was a Cigarette brand copy probably from the early 80s but have not seen another like it. I am trying to find a site where people with knowledge of this type of boat may be able to look at a picture and help me identify the boat. Tod

What do I need to look for here? This will be the first boat I have owned but I am experienced with smaller water craft.
I want a used model that has a small cabin (air conditioned would be nice) I live near a lake that has access to main rivers and would be using on week ends, will rent a slip on the lake to keep it. I want one that has been maintained but I am pretty good with a wrench too.
A friend said I needed a cuddy cabin crusier. I am hoping to find one I like in the low $20s lower would be better. My question is, is there real hope here or am I going to be finding junk in my price range?

I seen this video in the 90's sometime and it came from the library it had the most beautiful scenery in it the sailing yacht went to untouched regions of the world and the ending featured alaska and the aurora borealis it also had places like england, ireland, greenland, and other places there were no people and no one was sailing the sailing yacht. the yacht was white with very red sails if I remember correctly and it was large and very beautiful and there were voices for the yacht describing where it was going next and this waterfall with snow all on its rocks and trees had snow on them and there was a voice for the waterfall there were never any people throughout the whole video I do no know the name of this video I want to find it again can you please help and give me the name of the video thank you. I did not know what other category to put this question under it is not actually a cruise like people on a ship but more like visualizations of sceneries and such.

I've just come across that kind of boat looking for hulls, and I like the fact that they seem easy to build. But are they safe, and do they make efficient use of engine power? If not, what would be better? I'm building a commuter boat for four people to go across a harbour at 5 knots every day (placid seas, sometimes windy).

I am building an electric commuter boat for 4 people, fully enclosed, for use in a harbor with a climate comparable to Vancouver. I want to power it electrically with a 2HP motor. I hope to get about 5 - 10 knots out of it.
What do you reckon, any chance?
Thanks

I'm considering using a small boat to commute to work through a harbor. The distance would be 8 miles, and the speed I'm allowed to go is 5 knots (slow as hell, I know, but it's still shorter and quicker than driving). I'm only worried that the boat would use more fuel than my car (28mpg).
Would anyone know?
Thanks.
