False. There are set numbers for such. Mostly all yachts don't exceed 200 feet. Boats are classified from 20 feet to 200 feet long, with a beam of 13 to 50 feet wide, not exceeding a gross tonnage of more than 12,000. Depending on how much you wish to spend, you can have a custom yacht built, over 200 feet, but then it is classified as a "super-yacht' and no longer truly falls into the category of yachts, this will usually cost you upwards of $30million.

The other posters are correct. Yachts come in all kinds of sizes. Our boat (we don't call it a yacht, though others do) is 35 feet long and has a beam of about 11 feet, which is a good size for 2 people. Most people cruising today go for a boat a little bigger - around 40 feet or larger, which means a little more room, a lot more work, and much more to break.
A yacht can be as big as you can afford and as small as you can cope with, though I don't know if a boat under 20 feet in length would be called a yacht.

There is no set number for this. Even a small boat is techically a yacht, which is any self-propelled vessel used for pleasure.
