First of all.. There should be NO REASON whatsoever that you would need to beat it yourself.. There are plenty highly qualified Johnson technicians that would be willing to help you..

Call the nearest tech and let them know that you are having some trouble getting it off.. In the process, you may have caused some damage. Let them know that they need to be somewhat gentle as not to further damage the property.. Using long slow movements would be best. Do not force it.. It will take a while to get it off, but it's worth the wait.. Don't be alarmed, when it finally gets off.. it's going to make some noise and may even lose some lubricant.

Last but certainly not least.. Do not get a new propeller... Yours is perfect and special in it's own way..

Wasn't sure where you were going with that at first - LOL. Unless you knocked out a big piece of the prop, you should be able to take it to a shop for repair or to have it reshaped and balanced.

It depends on the props size, age and how much you broke off. The cost of filling in the broken part and balancing the prop my be more than what it's worth. Consult your Johnson service representative, or you can do some research yourself with the links I provided for you.
