The tallest human ever was Robert Pershing Wadlow, who was 2.72 m (8 ft 11.1 in) tall.
Robert Pershing Wadlow (February 22, 1918 – July 15, 1940), according to Guinness World Records is the tallest man in medical history for whom there is irrefutable evidence. Wadlow reached an unprecedented 8 ft 11.1 in (272 cm) in height and weighed 439 lb (199 kg) at his death. His great size and his continued growth in adulthood were due to a tumor within his pituitary gland. He showed no indication of an end to his growth even at the time of his death.

some people are tall because of a problem with their petuity (probaly wrong spelling)gland it causes to much growth hormone The tallest woman in the world has this and is starting treatment for this condition, it can cause an enlarged heart .It is not nessaraly gentic in fact only 56 cases of the genetic are known .6 are in my family

As far as I know, he did not play basketball.

Their were reports in history that some people were over 8 ft. tall in roman times.

I guess it depends on how tall is the building that he is standing on the roof of! And how long are his stilts and is he on a trampoline or not!
