The engine is a 5.0 litre Ford and the gearbox was run with no oil for a short period of time but i guess it was long enough to ruin the gears. Right now the engine won't even turn over because the gears won't turn. I have a local mechanic that said he would repair it for $1000. Maybe that's not a bad deal?

I hope to build with composîte wood or another type, not sure, but will have ribs on the inside of the boat.I think these are called chines. Anyway I want this boat to be lightweight enough to take off the back of a truck without too much trouble and then put into the water.I would like to use a small motor on this boat as well. My main use though is to use this boat for fishing.

With regard to non-military boats, both leisure and commercial? What are the laws/superstitions etc etc?

For instance, I'd imagine it'd be bad luck to name a yacht after a famous wreck, eg, the Titanic?

Thanks!

I have a 18ft celebrity bowrider with a 305 mercruiser engine. I believe it is a 1994. It did not come with a manual and I am trying to find out how much it weighs. Does anyone have a suggestion for a website or somewhere that I could find this info?
Thanks.

Our RV has some small damage to the exterior fiberglass that I repaired with a fiberglass repair kit. No leakake, but off color. I would like to paint a small design over the damaged area to give it a more professional look. Is there an appropriate way to paint over a fibeglass repair (it is a brown color and our RV is white)?
