Our RV has some small damage to the exterior fiberglass that I repaired with a fiberglass repair kit. No leakake, but off color. I would like to paint a small design over the damaged area to give it a more professional look. Is there an appropriate way to paint over a fibeglass repair (it is a brown color and our RV is white)?

Use an automotive or marine paint. Lightly sand the area with high grit (800) wet/dry sand paper, and then follow instructions on the paint cans.

I see Frank is old school like myself he is 100% correct but you might want to contact the manufacturer and do the same procedure with their Gell coat, Michael

Its not a problem at all ...First remove any wax or contaminates from the surface.. Finish it to 320 grit sandpaper , prime it with a polyurethane primer.. its the best.. you can use any sandable primer surfacer. but the urethane is the best .apply several coats.. allow this to dry thoroughly (overnight preferably)... sand it with 400 grit to smooth the surface with no imperfections.. you may have to repeat priming to perfect it...If your blending it in make sure you use rubbing compound to clean the surrounding surface..Mask it off ..Tach it off with a painters tack cloth... paint your primed area. extending farther with each coat to eliminate overspray and to feather the blend... Take your time... Goodluck
