All outboards engine are designed for use with 87 octane. There is a big difference between the way a 2 stroke outboard and a 4 stroke automotive engine burn fuel. Octane has no effect on fuel mileage. It is the measurement of how fast the fuel combustion process occurs. Just make sure you mix the fuel with an tcw-3 outboard oil in the ratio of 50:1 or 1 pint of oil to six gallons of gas.

I'm with "Knownothing", a 50:1 mix (3oz of oil to 1 gal of gas) and use "REG" gasoline. A two- stroke motor (2 cycle) is a low compression engine, and does NOT run better on premium gasoline, that works better on high compression engines (4-stroke), if you check your H.W., regular gasoline actually makes more H.P. than premium fuel. Premium fuel is for older cars that ping, and knock, unless it's a specialty car (high performance, high compression) that requires premium fuel (these are few and far between.

Hey julio, you should put Supreme gas instead of regular gas in your moter. Regular has a octane rating of around 88. Supreme has an octane rating of around 92. The higher the octane, the cleaner it will burn, and you'll get more miles to the gallon.

Regular unleaded. And, if it is an older model, it probably requires a fifty to one mix of gas and oil.
