Ferro-cement was the "in" material to make a boat hull from, and my father was quite taken with the idea behind it. Time and my father have passed, and I am wondering if it is still a viable building material. thank you for your responses.

Like what does this prove? It seems silly and if it's a tradition where'd it start? What are we trying to prove here...

The bubble hose is 1/4" and has a led weights inside the hose to hold it down. The problem is the old shrimp pieces have stopped it up and I am having trouble finding a replacement hose w/ the led inside it. Does anyone know who sells these or where I can get one? I bought the boat in Corpus Christi quite a while back (8-10 ago) and they have closed since then so there no help.

I'd just like to know your opinion of the Olympic-class steamships
(R.M.S. Olympic, R.M.S. Titanic, H.M.H.S. Britannic) in terms of appeal to the eye, construction, and performance.

My crazy plan is to build a super-long power cat for commuting to work through a large harbour; it has to be that long in order to allow me to cruise at 12 knots, because all boats that are shorter than that are not allowed to go any faster than 5 knots (that's just the law, and if I went that slow in a small boat, it would take too long to get to work, hence the length).

My worry now: That's one heck of a long, narrow-looking boat. Will that still be stable? For non-metric people, we're talking a catamaran the length of two stretch limos, and the width of only one.
Thanks.

Looking for information on how much just the pontoons weigh on a pontoon boat. Just those alone.
Thank you

Hi ...
It happens, but dear knows what they eat to produce such stuff ...
OK the usual cleaning products work, but sometimes leave a bit of a mark where the offending item has sh*t.
I don;t go around polishing the brass-work every day, like some boaties, more of a practical crack on type of bloke.
But moving everything off the roof to re-paint bits is a tedious process. I have used pressure-washers, violent sounding potions,
yet I go " there's another one !"
Maybe there is a duck repellant out there ?
Nothing personal against ducks, but please sh*t somewhere else.
All thoughts gratefully recieved.
Bob

by rough waves, i mean wake found on a lake. I was wondering if the jarring of the craft could hurt it or damage the hull.

Assume exactly same ship, all nearest vessels in the same positions etc and same amount of lifeboats - would everyone have got off the Titanic if it had struck that iceberg today, not 94 years ago.
Airlift perhaps?

I want to re upholster my boat seats. The old seats had some kind of thin clear plastic material over the foam. I need to know what this was, were to buy some and how I should use it. I assume it was to protect the foam from water saturation. I am kind of thinking that it should go on top of the foam but be open at the bottom for ventilation if moisture should happen to get to the foam anyway.

I've decided that all I want in life is to sail the seven seas on a genuine pirate ship of my own ^_^
I know plenty of people who'd be willing to be my crew already, so that's not a problem.
