I had 7 years no claims built up, lived overseas for 2 years, and my insurance company say I've lost all my no claims discount even though I was running a car in this time.
Does anyone know a way around this or a company that will retain my discount.

I've not driven for six years now and have no insurance; say for example you buy a car from someone - how can you be insured to drive it away that day. Do you need a cover quote and how could you obtain one if you're not sure of the exact car you're going to buy?

I need to put power steering fluid in the car that I am driving. I should stress that this is not my car, so I can't mess it up! Just driving it while my boyfriend is out of town. I tried calling local auto supply stores, but I called two of them and they both gave me different answers! I don't know who to trust!

My friend has a fixed up turbodiesel with 650 Hp and about 1200 Lb torque. A Corvette has 400 Hp and torque.

The torque-to-weight ratio of the diesel is 5.7
The torque-to-weight ratio on Corvette is 8.3 (worse)

So if he reved up the Diesel to max torque before launch and the Corvette too, who would go off the line faster?

First, a little background.

Me and my husband bought our first vehicle in September of last year. We had been using his father's Ford Expedition before that, and he needed it back. Me being pregnant, we panicked. We didn't really do our research or think clearly about the decision and kind of went with the first thing we saw, in fear of being without a car.

We bought a 2006 Saturn Ion. We are ready to become pregnant with our second child, and found a Ford Explorer that we really want. BUT we owe $5000 more on our car than it is worth. Making our finance amount go from $16000 to $21000. The bank will not finance that much for the Explorer because it isn't worth that much.

We are desperate. What would happen if we went ahead and got the Explorer, without trading in our Saturn, and then let the Saturn be reposessed?

Other than the obvious tarnish to credit. We can't afford two car payments, so it's one or the other.

Thanks!

Why don't they just go ahead and include race. I mean I don't agree with it but isn't there a form of descrimination to price someone according to their age. Yes I understand there are statistics that prove younger person have higher accidents. But they already price according to gender. I'm sure there are statistics that show Blacks or Whites have more accidents then the other vise versa....

I want to fix up my 95 two door escort. I know its not the greatest car made, however it runs good. It could use a paint job, a few shocks and springs, but other than that its a pretty decent car that has been very dependable since I have purchased it. I also want to paint it and get some body work done to it. A stereo system and the works. So where do you think i should begin and what should i start fixing first?

Replacing the driver side half shaft, any "tricks" to facilitate this(particularly at the transmission side). How hard of a job is it for a back yard mechanic. Any special tools needed to remove the inner cv portion from the tranny.

I've seen these electrolysis devices for sale and I really don't think they would work. Is anyone using one of these devices and how is it working?? I've got a friend who purchased one and is putting it on his truck...
FYI: I'm not thinking about running off 100% hydrogen, but the Brown's Gas that is produced when water is electrolyzed
such as the system here at www.savefuel.ca

We'll see what happens...My bet is that it isn't gonna work though...
