I own a 1979 mercedes-benz 300sd turbo diesal...I do not have the owners manual however i do have a haynes book on it and cant figure out what the dashlight sybals mean this is my first mercedes ever so please help me there are only 2 i dont know what they are:

(((O))) looks something like that and the other looks like a spring

Brake pads worn.!!!!

I seem to recall that ((O)) = hand brake on, or worn brake pads - and the 'spring' shaped symbol is the 'glow plugs' indicator.

mine is a 1985, they may be the same.
Center console-top row-left to right.
1st. rear window heater
2nd. sunroof
3rd. hazard warning flasher
4th. antena
5th. switch for rear passanger compartment lamp.
