I'm looking into buying a pontiac firebird trans am, but i want to know what year they first got airbags, because i know they make a car a lot safer, and being young and wanting a V8 in it, i think it would be wise to have airbags in it. Also, if the 89' has airbags, or at least a driver airbag, would you adivse the V8 or the V6

Correct me if i'm wrong, but Truckers (whom i have the utmost respect for, by the way--love ya uncle kenny) can only drive 10 hours straight before having to stop for sleep. Why then can Paramedics and EMTs work 24, sometimes as much as 48 hours in a row, oftentimes with no sleep, and no one bats an eye? i know i wouldn't feel comfortable having my husband show up at my doorstep to work on me at the end of one of his marathon shifts if i needed serious help. does no one care, or are they just that understaffed that they have to look the other way? he worked 36 hours straight yesterday, called to tell me he might have to stay for another 12, (but luckily, they found someone to come in and cover the last half of the shift last night) then turned around and went back in for another 24 this morning. had they not found someone, he would have been at work 72 hours. and it was the supervisor that was letting him work, or should i say asking him... shouldn't someone do something?

I've been driving a PAS car for about a year now, but it's now time to buy my own car, and I'm going for something old (without PAS). But I've hardly got any experience in non-power steering car. Could someone give me a brief idea on how hard it is, and how long it'll take to get used to? By the way, I'm a pretty young driver, so it may take more time to learn than average!!

If so what is your average speed? I got nicked recently doing 80mph. I was going with the flow of traffic. I seem to average around 80-85 daily during my work commute everyday (405/105 to 405/710) What's your average?

Ok I asked before about my battery draining when I use my A/C. A few people came up with the same answers I came up with but one person said it just might be the voltage regulator. I am beyond my witts end and desperately need help here.

Heres what happened:
When I idle with the a/c on the battery drains. This includes traffic, at stop lights, stop signs, and in park.
If I keep holding down button to close the window when it is fully closed the battery drains very quickly.
I brought it to a mechanic and he said the battery is at full voltage and so is the alternator. He mentioned the alt is around 700 - 750 when my car needs around 650... (something like that) and the bat is at 16.
The compresser is fine because while I drive the a/c kicks out majorly cold air and still kicks it out when I idle .. the bat just drains.
The belts are all fine
And he also cleaned out the fuel intake.

No solution.. I get the car back and it starts again a day later. Please help...

I have never bought a car. I have no credit and I'm a full-time student. I would have to get a loan and get a co-signer since I have no credit. My dad took my car so I have no way to get around and my University is in afairly big city in the South. Taxi's are rare so public transportation is out. My boyfriend got scammed when he bought his car and I don't want that to happen to me. Someone help me please. I want another Mustang. Can anyone please tell me what to do.

I have a 1996 Ford Explorer that makes a very loud clunking sound that comes from the front of the truck, but only when it gets hot outside. It's not the brakes but I've had someone suggest suspension. You can feel it reverberate through the steering column as well. Any help would be great.
