What would people say if all churches, religions, cults money books were open for the public to view? Would membership in them decline or increase? What do they have to hide by being tax exempt ? Would things improve in our country if they had to pay taxes along with everyone else? Could it happen one day? Does anyone know of any churches that the money books are closed to the public?

I signed two vehicles over to a car dealership as trade-in allowance on a car for my newly married daughter. The cars were given a trade-in allowance of $7400. Do I need to file a gift tax return on these? It would be as if I gave her $7400. I know the exclusion limit is $12,000, so I wouldn't owe any tax on it, but nonetheless, do I have to report it on Form 709?

What code do I use for payments to my AFLAC insurance plan and for a vision insurance plan. These amounts show up in box 12, but our bookkeeper never puts a code in the box and doesn't really know which one I should use. These are pre-tax $, designed to reduce my take home amount, and thus lower my taxable income. I can't find anything that matches these on the IRS site.
This is the only thing I have left to figure out so I can file my taxes. Help!

My fiancée was a full-time student in graduate school. I paid her tuition, books, and other education related expense, total about $18,000 in 2006. After she graduated in June, she started to work since September and the wage showing on her W-2 form is $18,288. My wage is $43,925. We live together whole year. We both are single no kid. She is 32 years old. We don’t have other income, and we don’t own any property except our vehicles. How can we maximize the refund especially the tuition credit?
