California State Sales Tax is 7%. Many (most) cities and counties add tof this, and may collect as much as 8.75% in total.

The tip is not taxable, as this is not part of what was sold to you. Consider 15 - 20% as a standard tip percentage, depending on the number of people in your party, and the quality of service. Most of the time, for parties of 6 or more people, a tip will be added automatically...lately, I have seen this at 18% as a standard.

IEMS is industrial engineering and management systems, this is a software package. I would look up in the database what they have set the rate at for sales tax.

Otherwise it goes by counties in California for Sales Tax
http://www.boe.ca.gov/cgi-bin/rates.cgi

go here and pick your city/county
