I worked 4 jobs this year. Have not recieved any of my W-2's. Just by going off of the last pay stub of 2006 (per job), can I at least try to ball park (i.e. guess) the amount of my return?

I don't have anything back from the company I work for yet, of course, but I saw something on TV that sounds like I won't have to wait till my W-2 arrives. Do you know anything about that add? If so, how much does it cost and is it reliable and faster?

My husband and I have 9 children together. People are always teasing us about allowing them to claim some of our children on their taxes because (they say) we can only claim 2 of them anyways.
First of all I would NEVER do that, I know they are just teasing but what is this about, (us only being able to claim 2 of our children)??? We have always been able to claim all of our children and don't know what the dickens they are talkin about.

Please only serious answers.
Does anyone have any idea what they mean?

I had a lot of medical expenses in 2006, however I did have insurance cover some of it.

Do I claim only the expenses in which I paid out of pocket for, even if there is a balance due at the end of the year?

I can also claim copays, prescription costs, medical items need for procedures, correct?

What proof do I need to show for expense to travel back and forth to doctor offices?

I read the information on the IRS site and I'm sorry to say I'm too thick in the head to understand it.

Thanks.

When my divorce became final , I was given the house my now ex and I owned together for 8 years. I just found out how ever that legally I still dont own the home 100% because the deed was never taken out of his name, and thus the loan is still in his and my name. I have made all of the payments on the home this year, he has paid nothing. I just really need to know who gets to claim the intrest on the loan, or does it have to be split? He hasnt lived in the home since last January 21, and that months payment came out of my pocket. Any help would be appreciated, I have always done my own taxes, and would really hate to have to go to someone to find out. Thanks again!!!

We are sending our son to a private high school. He will have to board there. The cost will be about $24,000 per year and we will have to take out loans to pay for it. We live in Virginia (and the school is also in Virginia).
Can we deduct the tuition we pay?
Can we deduct his "room and board" fees?
Can we deduct the interest on these loans (if they are properly identified as K-12 student loans)?

I did two egg donation cycles last year, receiving $11,300. The compensation is termed in my contracts as "compensation for discomfort and inconvenince" (or something along those lines, it's not a direct quote).

I am travelleling to the USA and plan to buy a camera which costs around USD 600. In many parts of the world you can get the TAX component of such an expense refunded at airport or similar place.
Is there anything at LAX like this?

Hello. I have just received a $40,000 inheritance from my father. He passed away two years ago but I was to receive the inheritance only once I had turned 18. So my question is - do I have to pay any state or federal taxes on my inheritance? I live in California. Thanks in advance!

I am from GA. I have purchased from Amazon.com and other businesses and was not charged. The person I dealt with is my publisher, my book is for sale and I am paying sales tax on my books. He has a little online store, and was outraged that I asked him why he charges tax when Amazon.com doesn't.
