Yes, of course I do my own taxes.

And more than half the cases I review for others who have done their own returns that have moderate to complex cases, I find substantial errors--most of which are paying too much tax! Yes, even true with TubboTax users. (Wage earners with interest and EIC, and stuff like that I usually can't improve)

Remember, most of the canned software packages guarantee their accuracy that they will pay the penalties. But there are NO penalties charged by the IRS when you OVERPAY your taxes! So it's a stupid guarantee.

I have done my own taxes for about 6 years. I always get more money back than if I were to go into a tax center.

I've done my own taxes for almost 20 yrs: by hand, by typewriter, by software (desktop and online). Except for one year, when I farmed out my two-state return to an out of state tax preparer and had anxious moments trying to file on April 15.

When I file myself, I know I'm responsible for getting everything right. Part of the time I get it wrong, but I've never made a mistake where I've underpaid and owed the gov't. I'd rather overpay and get it back later (hopefully) than underpay and have to pay up with interest.

I used to pay someone, but I took a crash course in taxes and now I feel as though I could tackle most tax issues or look up any questions on irs.gov or publication 17. I'll be doing my own this year : )YAY!!

I am no expert but have found obvious mistakes in tax returns submitted by professionals on behalf of my friends. So I prefer to do my own, I have my own best interest at heart.

I spent 35 bucks on turbo tax last year, and went to Jackson Hewitt anyway, and they got me $1800 more than I would have got with the turbo! Well worth the $160 they charged me. That was between my state tax and federal

I used to do my own taxes with turbotax. But after getting married, buying a house and starting my own business - it got too complicated, I'd rather leave it to the professionals.

I do my taxes on completetax.com. However, if I owned a house, I would probably let someone else do it.

I do my own with TurboTax. I own a home. The only difference between doing your taxes with a home is you write off the interest you pay on your home loan. TurboTax makes it very easy.

Anyone, I mean ANYONE should us this instead of paying someone.
