In 2006 I forgot to send in my tax information to the government for a refund. I was told by someone that you legally only are required to file once every three years before you get in trouble. I already filed my taxes this year for 2006. How can I file my 2005 taxes?

If you and your spouse live apart for over a year, can you file your taxes as single? My spouse and I have lived in different states for the past 2 years. Can we each use the "SINGLE" option when filing our taxes, or do we have to use one of the "MARRIED" options?

I worked 7 months in California as a contractor. My employer is in Massachusetts but the client is in California. Based on the non-resident income tax form, only California source income is subject to income tax. I think my income is not based in California. Am I correct? My employer withheld CA income tax.

I'm talking about a regular $4000 contribution of after-tax money into an established roth ira account. I was under the impression that no reporting needed to be done since it's not a taxable event, but someone told me otherwise. I think I'm right. But if I am right, then how does the IRS really know how many years you have contributed so they know whether or not the amounts in the account are correct?

If i get paid all year long by my employer in cash, they don't take taxes out on me. Then at the end of the year my employer gives me a hand written w2, do I have to file taxes? I mean he is only doing it to use as a business expense and I am going to end up having to pay in a lot of money. Is there any way I can get by without having to file? Someone please explain.

I have a condo that I live in for 6 months last year and rented to a friend for the other 6 months. What are the tax implications of claiming the rental. Considering my friend paid less than my total costs, so it qualifies as rental-not-for-profit. What are the pros/cons of regular rental property claim versus rental-not-for-profit? I believe there are some differences in terms of depreciation, deducting assessments, and tax basis on sale. I plan to sell my condo this year, so there would be approximately 1 year of rental.

I'm in California and if I'm making a payment it gives me a P.O. box address. If I'm not making a payment to send to Fresno, it doesn't give me an address just the City & zip. I don't get it. (I'm not sending a payment-just the extension)
Thanks!!!
