Which taxes? Federal Income Taxes, State Income Taxes, State and County Ad Valorem and Property Taxes, Gasoline Taxes, Cigarette Taxes, Alcohol Taxes and Sales Taxes? There are more and there are many, many Fees on many things that are the same as Taxes. We pay them for a lot of reasons. And we have a lot of them because there are many people that don't even know what they are because they don't pay taxes other than Sales Taxes and a few Fees. Right now it takes 3 working people to pay for every non worker. When it gets down to 2 to 1 and possible 1 to 1, there is going to be a revolution in this country. The Free loaders in this country have got to GO!

To make politicians rich. Okay, a more serious answer: Taxes are suppose to fund the states,
medicare programs, retirement programs, and other programs that some how don't work all that well half the time. The money from taxes should go the people here in this country. Unfortunately,
Congress ships much of the money to other countries who can not support their own people.
