I am a full time student, which means I am exempt from paying council tax, but I am about to rent a house with two of my friends who are both working full time.
When working out rent they worked council tax into the price, but I dont pay this.
How does it work? Is there a set price that we are meant to pay on the house and we have to split it between the 3 of us or do we each pay for our own room or what?

since then I consider myself selfemployed and have paid estimated taxes. The question is this: what and how should I file taxes at the end of this year? Does any taxes I paid earlier in the year towards my corpration prior to closing comes into accout towards my 2006 return? or do I only pay taxes on amount earned after my corporation was closed? Thanks

I've been separated from my wife for a year. I allowed her to file our taxes (Joint since we were together in 05) and for the life of me I did not follow up on the matter. Well I found out that she did not file the taxes because we owed money and I only have a few days before the new year to figure out what to do. I am looking for a tax specialist as I type. I hope I can get some real solutions so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I really want to file my refund as soon as possible, but I'm not sure how long before my company will send my w-2. When do you usually get it? Beginning, middle or end of Jan? or right before the deadline?

I'm confused how this will work because I will only have been married for 1/3 of the year (married Sept. 2nd). Her mother claimed her on taxes before this. Also, my wife is a college student who worked part-time throughout the year. Whats the best way to file and what benefits are there?
