My parents get about $20,000 from soc security and medicare and they have no other income or securities. They had a savings account at the beginning to the year and used $6,000 of that for some home repair, and the rest for their cemetery plots, leaving only $1,000 left.

I deposited $30,000 throughout the year into their checking acct for them to pay all their medical, food, utilities, clothes, auto, etc. They own their home and pay mortgage, taxes, insurance, homeowners fees, and home repairs with this money, as well.

Can I claim them as dependents and add their medical expenses to my deductions? Does the fact that they own their home affect this?

I was on a game show in August and won 25K. I received the money Saturday, December 23, 2006 and deposited the check in the bank that same day. The funds will not be available for use until January 3, 2007 due to a period required to guarantee the funds are available, at which time the check will clear. My question is--Can I pay taxes on the money in 2008 since I won't technically receive the money until 2007, or am I stuck paying taxes on the money next April, 2007. It would really help me out if I can hold off until the 2008, but I don't want the IRS coming after me!!!

My boyfriend and I have been living together for about a year now and he has not been working. Is there any way to claim him on my taxes. I know this is often a hard subject to deal with tax wise because he and I are not married. Does anyone know or have any place I can go to for detailed information?

My fiance and I just bought a home this Aug 2006 and start payment right away.

$1350/month including interest, property tax.

My fiance gets even year to year from tax return. ( I mean everytime he files or claim a tax its either he gets only $50-75 bucks or owes.
I would say he mostly dont get nothing every year.

I get $800-1000 every year

Now that we bought own this home and he makes more money than I do, Who will better benefits to claim it? (Mind this, it really doesn't matter who gets the money as we both share this returns)
I just want to know the better benefits?

We both files single as we are not married yet.
